Philadelphia – October 3, 2006 – Hx Technologies, Inc. (HxTI), a leading provider of radiology utilization management solutions and health information exchanges, today announced that Dr. Michael Sherman has been appointed to the Company’s board of directors. A radiologist with 33 years of experience and recognized expertise in building and growing world-class healthcare enterprises, Sherman brings a deep understanding of the business of healthcare, corporate governance, and diagnostic imaging.

“Mike is a tremendous addition to our Board,” said Dr. Elliot Menschik, HxTI Chairman and CEO. “Beyond the essential insights of a long-practicing radiologist, he brings a wealth of experience and wisdom from building and managing high-growth healthcare ventures and an innate knowledge of the intricacies of payer-provider relations.” In 1995, Sherman conceived and implemented the simultaneous merger of five separate radiology groups to form Advanced Radiology, a group of 90 radiologists that is currently the largest imaging specialty group in the Baltimore region. He subsequently took the group public as part of Radiologix, an operator of freestanding, outpatient diagnostic imaging centers.

Dr. Sherman served as president and later chairman of the board of Advanced Radiology and continues to serve on the Radiologix Board. Sherman received his AB Degree from Duke University and his MD and radiology training from the University of Maryland Medical School. In addition to Radiologix, he currently serves on the Board of Greenspring Financial Insurance Limited (a captive malpractice insurance company owned by Medstar Health) and has actively served on the board of directors of Medstar Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the mid-Atlantic region and the 20th largest not-for-profit system in the United States
