Michael Dandorph Michael J. Dandorph is the Senior Vice President for Business Development at the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS). As a member of the health system’s senior leadership team, Michael has responsibility for all business development functions for the $3 billion dollar per year enterprise, including strategic planning, new program development, service line management, marketing, managed care contracting and provider network affiliations. Mr. Dandorph joined UPHS in 1996, and has led several major system-wide organizational redesign and operational improvement initiatives, as well as over $200 million in top-line growth as part of a successful $300 million+ financial turnaround. In addition, he led the Health System’s sale of Phoenixville Hospital to Community Health System for over $100 million, orchestrated the development of the $140 million Roberts Proton Therapy Center and negotiated several successful joint ventures in both the acute and post-acute care settings Prior to joining the UPHS, Mr. Dandorph was the Director of Provider Network Development at First Option Health Plan, a provider-owned HMO, where he led the health plan’s expansion efforts into Pennsylvania. He also spent several years at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey where he led the development of the hospital’s “Sports Institute” — a successful community outreach and orthopedic program development program within the hospital’s physical therapy department. Mr. Dandorph received his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from William Paterson University and his Master’s Degree from Cornell University’s Sloan Program in Health Services Administration. He currently lives in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania with his wife, Jean, and three children, Robert, Lauren and Sarah. |
